Lessons learned
A solution of this size needs the involvement of more areas than was involved. The infrastructure team was focused on servers, the security team on certificates, however a greater involvement of the network team could have identified in advance the load of the solution on top of the firewalls. In this case, a proof-of-concept exercise could have detected this possibility and solutions could have been designed and implemented to control the load on top of the firewalls.
