Enhancements on an internal system accessed through Intranet and that is on production environment.

 

Execution

The application content files were sent to the translation centre in Canada and many interaction cycles were necessary in order to fix errors and to translate new sentences due to the improvements that were being added to the application. The improvements were split among the team members and we followed the phases of solution design, design review, code, code review, unit testing and documentation for the promotion to the test area. Among the improvements implemented I highlight:

  • Adding fields in the advanced search of assets.

  • Change how the date and time were presented.

  • Improve the Log layer to use Log4J.

  • Distribute the list of countries according to the geographies when exporting an asset to another country. Different geographies have different treatments in internal systems.

  • Canada users could not use the function "Sales to Employee".
