During the period that I was a trainee in company called Nixtron I developed an vt100 terminal emulator for Digirede unix equipments. I had some challenges during this development. The ones that consider relevant were:

• To map and to build the grammar interpretation algorithms for the vt100 protocol.

• To transfer and to receive files through the X-modem protocol and using the Ziv-Lempel algorithm to compact each communication package.

• To move the characters quickly on the screen through Assembler.

• To avoid that speaker beep for keyboard buffer warning. This was done because the warning is done by a processor interruption and it could block the communication interruptions between the emulator and the unix equipment.
