Basic concepts of material reallocation module

The coils produced by the stainless and silicon finishing areas must assist the metallurgical, dimensional and superficial quality requirements defined by the costumer requests. The superficial quality requirements of the coils vary in agreement with the application that will be given by the customer. On the other side, the coils present several types of superficial defects that can or cannot invalidate its delivery to the scheduled customer. If it invalidates the delivery then it is necessary to adjust the allocation group between coils and Customer Requests. This is done considering the requirements defined by the orders and being guaranteed the viability of the court of the coils in the available equipments.

Each coil processed by one of the two finishing areas receives a accompaniment map. This map indicates the location of the superficial defects and its intensities. The real dimensions of the coil are also registered through width and thickness samples. All these information must be taken into account when allocating a coil to a certain customer.

Figure: When the coils passes through the rolling process the thickness is reduced and the length is increased. More over, it is possible that new defects are introduced and that others get attenuated.
