Execution
The project was in the maintenance and improvements phase. There were two different clients, one for each of the two major divisions of the service area. There was a project manager, a business analyst, a database analyst, an expert in Cognos and I was responsible for the application.
The time that I worked in project, several improvement requests were aproved, implemented and promoted to the production environment. Several error logs and problems were finalized by applying patches to the code and consequent promotion to acceptance and production environments after the validation and approval processes.
The year planning cycles have been successfully executed. These cycles start by importing data from various other systems. Some of them provide the amount of people, others report the financial projections by some experts, some inform attritions, etc. Then the system spreads the financial targets over the lower levels, resulting in an increase or reduction in resources in certain areas, divisions and departments, down to the number of resources level in its various JRSS Job Role Skill Set. This projection is exported in an Excel spreadsheet with several macros that support the plan refinement. These changes are imported back to the application and the data is exposed through Cognos reports.
