Material reallocation module

Elaboration of a module that analyzed the coil defect maps in several stages of the process and that accomplished the allocation of the orders in the coils. The allocations should be made respecting the specific quality demand for each customer for each coils faces. The module should also calculate the cutting sequence of the coils in the shears of the cutting area.

Data gathering

I accomplished a series of formal interviews to document the elaboration process of defect maps, the customers' quality restrictions and the detailed operation of all shears available in the cutting line.

Module creation

I elaborated and documented the material reallocation module. I formulated the matching heuristics, the maps projection, calculation of valid areas and the algorithm to calculate the cutting sequence.

Shipping module

Adaptation and installation of the shipping module for transport optimization developed in the United States.

Data gathering

I accomplished a series of formal interviews to document the operation of the shipping area, the relationship between the company and the several contracted carriers and the restrictions of the several available transport types.

Cold rolling schedule module

Creation of a module for the cold rolling area scheduling for both, stainless and silicon steel. This module was based on the Prized Traveling Salesman's problem. This module uses the information of the coils that is already in stock and also the coils schedules by the hot rolling strip mill scheduling.

I accomplished a series of formal interviews to document the operation and restrictions of each equipment of the cold rolling area.

Module design

I adapted the design of a module implemented in another project to work with the restrictions and particularities of the cold rolling area.

Solutions that I didn't have any action

Annual planning module

Creation of a new annual planning module based on lineal programming. The data for this module is stored in database and it uses this information to be executed at each month. So, it provides the company with a moving windows where you have a up-to-dated annual information each month.

Campaigns planning module

Creation of a module of automatic campaigns planning based on heuristics of job scheduler. This module uses of the information of the annual planning and of the production restrictions registered in database to generate the solution.

Order dressing module

Creation of a system based on rules for the elaboration of the orders production sequence.

Melt shop scheduling module

Creation of the module of Melt shop scheduling based on deep search heuristics. This module uses the campaigns information and the orders allocated. It schedules the sequence the pots of steel in the equipments. This module also schedules the use and the maintenance of the pots.

Hot rolling scheduling module

Creation of a module to schedule the Hot rolling area. It was based on a heuristic specifically developed for the area. This module uses the information of the plates that is already produced and also on the delivery schedule generated by the melt shop scheduling.

Inventory application module

Creation of a module that analyzed all the available materials in all of the process stages and performed the proper allocations.
